Production notes
Aragonez: fermentation began in marble lagares (troughs) with foot treading, before being transferred to concrete vats for malolactic fermentation, then to 5,000-liter French oak vats for aging. Touriga Franca: fermented in marble lagares (troughs) with foot treading. It was then transferred to 500-liter French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and aging. The Touriga Nacional underwent a similar vinification. Fermentation in marble lagares with foot treading. It was then transferred to 225-liter French oak barrels for aging. Grapes from the two Alicante Bouschet plots were fermented separately in concrete tanks. Malolactic fermentation took place in new 500-liter French oak barrels, where they were aged for 18 months. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels, followed by 2 years in bottle.
Tasting notes
Color: Intense garnet. Aroma: Complex aroma with notes of spices, licorice and pepper. Complemented with hints of mature black fruit. Palate: A silky and dense texture. A firm but very elegant tannic structure ensures a long and elegant finish. Wine and food pairing: Perfect with red meat, poultry and mature cheeses.
