Château de la Gardine is a family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Three generations of winemakers passionately craft wines renowned for their authentic expression of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir and their ageing potential. Overlooking the Rhône, Château de la Gardine's vines surround the winery and are planted on typical Châteauneuf-du-Pape soils: limestone, sand and rolled pebbles. Production notes
Soil(s): rolled pebbles, limestone with white pebbles, brown soils and safres. Hand-picked in crates. Rigorous sorting, de-stemming, blending of grape varieties before alcoholic fermentation, punching down of the cap. Aged in 2 to 6-wine vats and barrels (9 to 14 months).
Tasting notes
Appearance: Deep purple with violet highlights. Nose: Bursting with black fruits, exotic spices, roasting, hints of cocoa. The combination of powerful black licorice and delicate violets is perfectly expressed. Palate: Silky tannins dominate with their amplitude, auguring well for the future. Wine and food pairing: Provençal-style stew, game birds, stews and cheeses.
