About this winery
Château de la Gardine is a family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Three generations of winemakers passionately craft wines renowned for their authentic expression of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir and their ageing potential. Overlooking the Rhône, Château de la Gardine's vines surround the winery and are planted on typical Châteauneuf-du-Pape soils: limestone, sand and rolled pebbles. Production notes
The vineyards cover the wide terraces formed by the Ouvèze River, between 60 and 100 meters above sea level, where the soil is composed of rolled pebbles, sandstone and flint mixed with limestone fragments. Temperature-controlled fermentation for 20 to 25 days, aged in vats.
Tasting notes
Appearance: Clean, well-balanced and deep. Nose: Aromas of red berries, violets, liquorice, undergrowth and white pepper. Palate: Round and ample, with great harmony and a long, persistent finish and silky tannins. Food pairing: Roast quail, turkey rolls stuffed with prunes, mini pies of duck confit, quince and chestnuts.
