About this winery

The Viré winery was founded in 1928. Vérizet is first and foremost a story of terroir, which over time has become that of Viré-Clessé wines. On the Mâconnais hillsides of the ancient Châtellenie de Vérizet, in Burgundy, Chardonnay vines have found an ideal soil. Thanks to this limestone terroir, but also to the stubborn work of generations of winemakers, round, full-bodied, rich and subtle white wines are produced here. A magical alliance between fruit and minerality.

Tasting notes

Color: Bright yellow with golden highlights. Nose: Intense and complex with notes of ripe fruit and quince. Aeration develops sublime vanilla aromas. Palate: Full-bodied, precise, and balanced. The aromatic finish is superb and very persistent. Food and wine pairing: Serve at around 54°F with chicken and crayfish or dishes typical of Mâconnais cuisine (Bresse poultry, andouillette sausage, parsley ham).
