About this winery
The Viré winery was founded in 1928. Vérizet is first and foremost a story of terroir, which over time has become that of Viré-Clessé wines. On the Mâconnais hillsides of the ancient Châtellenie de Vérizet, in Burgundy, Chardonnay vines have found an ideal soil. Thanks to this limestone terroir, but also to the stubborn work of generations of winemakers, round, full-bodied, rich and subtle white wines are produced here. A magical alliance between fruit and minerality.

Production notes
Vines: The old vines, with an average age of 40 to 50 years, are grown on clay-limestone soils. Vinification: Harvested before over-ripeness, to preserve a fine acidic structure on the palate. Pneumatic pressing. Settling by flotation. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at low temperature (15-16°C) to bring out the grape's aromatic intensity and liveliness. Bottling after light aging on lees (6 months) to bring out fatness and roundness.
Tasting notes
Crystal-clear, yellow color with hints of gold. Intense nose bursting with ripe fruit aromas, with notes of white fruit (vine peach, pear). Charming and round on the palate, balanced by citrus nuances. Serve chilled at around 10°C. A very attractive aperitif wine, which goes very well with white fish, seafood and shellfish, poultry in cream sauce, sautéed vegetables and soft cheeses with a bloomy rind.
