About this winery
Casa Rojo was born in 2009 without its own cellar or vineyard, but rather like a dream. An itinerant oenological project, without limits or family ties, but with the desire and the conviction of being a new form of free enology. The founders had only one goal: to be happy. They made wines with the vines we fell in love with and traveled to the most remote corner of wine production. Production notes
Vineyard altitude: 850 to 900 metres Age of vines: 35 to 100 years Aged in French oak barrels for 460 days. 15% of the final blend underwent malolactic conversion in 1-year French oak barrels.
Tasting notes
Colour: Beautiful ruby color, with thick garnet rims. Nose: Very expressive, with intense aromas of wild blackberry and blackcurrant, with hints of aromatic herbs such as thyme and sage, wrapped in elegant aromas of cedar, leather, clove and toast, from its aging in French oak barrels. Palate: fleshy, powerful, well-structured, with elegant tannins and a long, balanced, harmonious finish. Food pairing: Spanish charcuterie, semi-cooked cheeses, white meats, tapas, pasta and pizza.
