About this winery

Domaine Cartuxa, located in Évora in Portugal's Alentejo region, is one of the region's most prestigious wineries. Founded by the Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, it produces renowned wines such as Pêra-Manca and Cartuxa Colheita. Production notes

When the grapes reach the point of maturation, they carefully picked, de-stalked and gently crushed. Fermentation is in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 24-27°C. This wine age 8 months in french barrels. Gently filtration before bottling.

Tasting notes

Deep pomegranate color. Aromas of wild berries, dried fruit and liquorice. Good acidity and firm tannins. Complex, with a soft, persistent finish. Food pairings : Spanish-style beef with sofrito, Quebec pork tenderloin glazed with maple and whisky, duck breast with figs.
