ORGANIC VINEYARDS IN POITEVINE Ampelidae is based in the southern part of the Loire Valley, in Marigny-Brizay. This large-scale region follows the course of France's longest river, crossing 14 départements from the Massif Armoricain to the Monts d'Auvergne. This long-ignored vineyard has its roots in a very ancient past. Traces of vine-growing in Vienne date back to 276 AD. Production notes
Alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled truncated cone-shaped stainless steel vats. Cold maceration lasts 14 days with 1 to 2 pump-overs per day. Malolactic fermentation. No enzymes, yeasts, or sulfur dioxide added. Aged in stainless steel vats for 5 months.
Tasting notes
Color: A deep red color. Nose: It offers a beautiful blend of kirsch, violet, blackcurrant, pepper, and bay leaf. Palate: Fruity, with supple tannins, lovely freshness, and a juicy character. Food and wine pairings: Duck breast, veal chop, roast lamb, mushroom risotto, and sheep's milk cheese.
