Production notes
The Chenin grapes used to make our special cuvée "Le Génie Orange" are harvested by hand, then macerated for several weeks in small barrels. Once fermented, the wine is aged in 2-3 wine barrels for several months. This winemaking process brings structure and a slight bitterness to the wine.
Tasting notes
Slightly orange in color, Génie Orange develops an intense nose of ripe fruit with notes of Angostura, herbs and infused citrus. Somewhat disconcerting on the palate, with aromas of bitter orange peel and a slightly structured, tannic finish. Food pairing: This free-spirited, original cuvée goes wonderfully well with mushroom risotto or chicken curry. Hard cheeses are a perfect match for the wine's fine texture. The citrus aromas are well-balanced with a chocolate tart.
